The idea of Betrayal and double crossings can be found in  films such as Training Day and Lock, Stock and Two Smocking  Barrels. The reason for the double cross is usually as it builds  the tension built between the characters , which can be caused by two things :
1: A difference in character between the protagonists causing them to turn on the other  in order to resolve that tension
2: One of the characters has a similar objective to the other character but this objective is changed by an outside force eg money , or inside force e.g actions of the other.
My influences were Training day as it gave the most ideas in handling the idea of betrayal and double crossing in this cased the topic was handled by separation in between the characters caused by behaviors an difference in moral standing , which i think influenced the way i handled the idea of  a love triangle with in the story while this was not touched on in  training day  . Also the idea of the poker game came from  Ocean thirteen which involved a casino heist. As the image of the gangsters , i was highly influenced by films like Snatch and Hooligan Street and Green Street. This allowed to create a more unrefined gangsters closer to the hooligan than the refined gangster.

More on Hooligans can be found here

I like this from a artistic point of view . The script it's moves very fluidly and creates a very suspenseful environment , giving my a idea about what good action means in a crime drama , in terms of pacing . The short begins with relaxed pace which is used to build suspense which reinforced by the fast  paced middle act of  the sequence. And it it helps intensify the ending

This shot gave me good of how a good chase created by always making sure that actions of the actions of the chase create a good idea of fear. This makes the pace of the sequence seems faster which is what is needed for a chase scene to succeed.

Context is used to show the setting of the series.this also use  context in order to juxtapose the normality of  submake with the out look of the shoper, which is given by  use outer presence in order to show what kind a look the character has , also in this text this is used as context in order to show what  world she live in and create tension. Further this also gives out a sense of slight abnormality in
the world of the character

Dialog is used  order to strengthen a characters personality at the same time , establish somenes re relationship another character without giving away to much . Saying this dialog is abou what is being said

when asked about the topic of my film which a double cross more than half of the respondents agrred that it makes for plot good development.Further more they agree that money or a love relationship makes for reason for the double cross. Proving that the basis of my idea is viable

The purpose of music video

Introduction
Music  videos  emerged in 1970 when record companies  realized that they could us promos which  the first music videos to replace live performance in tv . For example  american woman the Guess Who :American woman in 1970 .

This is a trend which  which followed . The first recognizable  music video is Queens  Bohemian rhapsody . Which accredited as the beginning of music videos as we know them today .

Music videos were only shown on Tv channel such as MTV opened  1981 this was only way to distribute the medium until 2005 with the launch of YouTube. However what is their purpose?

To put it simply the purpose of music video is the promotion of the artist and their song as well as directors.
As we know music videos are now one of the main ways artist promote themselves be they big names like Eminem or Rhianna independent bands. This is mainly because with the advance in social networking and streaming websites such as Facebook and YouTube  artists are now more exposed think of Psy a K-Pop artist who's song and music video For GangGam style(15th july2012) Style which gained 1 billion views in one year.

However this doesn't only work for artists think about music video directors such as Mark Romanek who produced music videos since 1986 when he directed the music video for The  The song "Sweet Bird of Truth" he also directed the video for Micheal Jackson scream which was for best direction. This lead to prestige for the director for his creative flare and can lead to future jobs.

This online distribution phenomenon allowed independent artists such as EarlSweatshirt  t to who became know known through Myspace as social network. But this isn't alwas the case as these
mediums are saturate  and therefore it becomes harder and harder for new artists to be found

This causes  another problem as the audience is used to the mainstream music videos and to see costly effects , props , sets and location changes however this is something that independent bands and artists can not afford . Which allows to create new trends or make the video look authentic and original . Which can attract fans

While it is that this exposure is used as promotion big labels Such as Inter-scope uses synergistic advertising the best example of this  is Eminem 8 mile film With the music video for Lose Yourself this causes fans of the film to become of the artist and therefore buy the record and grow his and record labels income.

However with the growth of video output on streaming sites . Producers will more likely stick with already established mainstream bands or artist. As this reduces the risk of losing money . As this video saturation cause in viewer-ship levels .and as music videos are distributed both  online on on tv channels such as 4music it makes it harder to transfer this into money therefore tan estimate will be made on record sales.

In conclusions  music videos  are popular because they allow the audience to connect with the artist and gain a greater level of immersion in the song and lyrics .They are famous with record labels because it grows the sales and it allows the new talent through independent videos which allows them grow larger both in size and income and sustain a large number of artists.

Music videos styles conventions and Techniques

Music videos exist in different styles . These are as follows ;

In concert and as live footage: This simply means that music shows the band or artist  playing a live performance. S

Narrative and interpretative it is conventional for music video to provide some sort of interpretation of the lyrics. This can be done in order to consolidated the lyrics extend the meaning,or sometimes ignore or consolidated the lyrics. This can be seen in Videos such as 50 Cent's Many Men ( Wish Death). Which use aggressive images in order to show the dangers that those who live a criminal lifestyle face as well reinforce the lyrics.

surrealistic;
this type of music video is very used to surprise ,m they are very unconventional and bear very little similarity to the lyrics. They tend to use  absurd imagery,

Impressionist. This type music video that ties  to capture the emotional feeling of the lyrics rather than the literal meaning of the lyrics. they can sometimes be artistic.

Animation
This type of music video use fully or partially animated content.

I

Intertexttual Music .This type of music often contain they can real events , or other media text. They can sometimes contain archive footage. Also they can sometimes pastiche ( a lighter for of parody)and parody artists sometimes and sometimes even homage an actor.
                                                                                                                   ALLUSION
This is a perfect example of literature music videos as it refers to the plight of prole of a certain ethnic origin .

Techniques
Lip-Sync: This can be seen in a lot music videos esppecially in the hip-hop genere. Where it very conventional for the artist to mime the lyrics to song . Even if the music video is narrative driven.

Editing
Music video are edited in ways that can sometimes challenge the usual editing techniques. .

cutting to the beat: This editing technique is the act of cutting the video in time with the music.
Post production effects: these are used to attract the audience . The complexity and overall effffect of this technique mus must match the genre of music

Chroma Key: this effect happens by removing the block color behind in individual in order for other images to be visible this effect is always done with footage filmed in front of a green screen
Split screen: This is simply means that screen is split between different types of footage to create different effects and sometimes even distort the image

Different camera movemets. such as: pans, tracking shots and  arch shots  are used in order to maintain the flow of the video an make seem more fluid.

For example in ice cubes Why We Thugs the video contains pans and tracking shots , also the camera is looks unstable everything it zooms out or in. This was done in order to fit the aggressive lyrics.

Different shot types allow the creator to convey certain feeling as well as show certain elment of the mies en scene

Mise -en-scene : The elements within a scene that help narrative have context give give birth to certain feeling in the video .

This music video uses mise-en-scene in order to show the main theme pain . This is both given by the ambulance

The hole that DMX finds himself in  is an effective use of mise-en-scene as it furthers the idea of pain and it also

Production Diary

Pre -production
After I got into a group of three, we debated which script, out of the three chosen, we would use to create our ten minute short film. While we thought of using the script written by someone in the group, it was decided  that this would not be feasible during our time frame and for other logistical reasons, such as having to learn how to create the effects for the specific production.
Therefore, we decided to use a screenplay for a horror short written by another member of the class because it would be less time consuming in post production and it would only need one location.

We also had to think about and plan our effects especially, how to obtain the effect of a dead body which was resolved by using a CPR mannequin. During this stage, we had most of the props required, e.g mobile phones and some food but also had to produce certain props, eg modified newspaper clippings and we created a sign for the child's room.

Part of the pre production was deciding on a location which didn't prove hard because I offered the group the use of my house for the duration of the production with the agreement of my parents. This was done on the logistics of time and distance from college to location being under half an hour. This made it more cost effective than hiring a location.

The hardest part of the planning was creating the story boards as each member of the group was in charge of a third of the script and therefore we had to think of ways to make them join up and not look like 3 different sequences. To do this we, divided the script into 3 sections; beginning, middle and end and then planned in such a way that the first shot of someone else's sequence is an exact follow up action wise of the end of the previous one.

Casting was easy because we are using members of our group as actors but we had to decide who would take which character. Characters were given but changed due to deciding using different people worked better in differing characters; eg the dad needed to be an older figure.

It was decided that we would each direct and film our section of the script except for one member as he is needed on screen for all the production. It was decided that I would not act at all, but directing my sequence and supporting the other sequences when required.

Planning the timing of filming was done by looking at our timetables and deciding to go out to location during the days when we all have the same free periods and could use the time most effectively. As we do not drive this needs to include lunchtimes as well as class-time as appropriate to make the best of the filming time.
Production
Filming was the hardest part of the production. This was cased by the fact that we had to adapt to cramped space of the location . This caused to work over time with wanted group deadlines .  Which caused to hurry the filming and therefore did not get enough coverage.

Another problem we had was consistency of light, This was caused by changes in the whether, we tried to control this by using the blinds and blankets to control the levels of light entering the room. While this had   worked to some extent the control of light wasn't perfect as natural light bled through. We will be looking to improve this in post production by

Post production

Post was production  by far the easiest of the stages.  Editing wise the seququce was divide in into three meaning that we could work on the final project at faster pace  and therefore finish it faster. However this brought back by the lighting problem , which caused our footage to greatly differ on color tones . This caused us to take a lot of time  from editing to find the right balance of right in order create a fore fluid scenes.
