market research

BBC has aproximately 34.5 Hours a week
CH4 Has about 43-44 a week
Channel 4 is the main channel for Documentaries followed by  Channel 5; this could be seen by BARB figures.
Documentaries get view ratings by the millions. For example, 'One born every minute', has viewing ratings of 3.11 millions. This shows that there is a real market for documentaries. Therefore, around
30 % of documentaries  are shown during peak time which is 6pm to 10pm but may be also shown after peak time.
This means that this is the right time to show a documentary. Channel 4 shows their documentary programming during the middle of peak time after the CH4 news;  this is done to increase the number of people watching them.
Also, I believe that the target audience for documentaries is middle class, people in their 30's.

  1. Angelo,

This is good and evidences that you have carried out research but it is very brief. This goes with your other research to get GC2 & 3.
