Research and Planning: E4 and the Brief


E4 is currently owned by the Channel 4 television Corporation and was
first created as pay - tv  subscription Channel in 2004; it had a contract with BSkyB and became a Freeview channel on 27th of May 2007 . The Channel targets an audience of 15-35 years old. The main audience being built up of 16 to 25years.

Though most of it chosen programming is based on the male demographic with products such Brooklyn Nine - Nine , The Big Bang theory, The Inbetweeners etc, however this is not solely for a male audience as they have other programs such as Friends and Ugly Betty.





 While shows like The Big Bang Theory and Brooklyn Nine-Nine  humor used in the programs attracts the main part of the audience Also their show also use stereotypes for  Big-Bang theory uses the stereotypical image of the nerd and uses in  order to create humor.Furthermore the show also constantly break the stereotype sometime in order to new audience and produce new content when    they return to it.






An Esting is a 10 second video that is shown on E4 during the advertising breaks. They are to show others talents and at the same time to announce the start and end of commercial breaks.This is also used by E4 as an indent  in order to advertise their programming.


E4 Test card has dark and dry comedy sense , which is given by the replication of the test. Which brings us to the 80 when test cards were to analyse signal
 

This another good of comedy genere i like becase of slap stick elements
